The American Civil Liberties Union is a nonprofit organization that aims to defend the rights of all people residing in the United States regardless of their beliefs, socioeconomic standing, and status of citizenship. The 2017/2018 annual report was inspired by the United States Constitution alongside court transcripts, these two elements helped create the visual language used throughout the annual report. Black and white imagery was chosen to emphasize the ACLU’s stance of defending everyone’s civil rights.
